Course Schedule

Our schedule is really easy to follow. Each week we’ll have one or more things to work on, you’ll see the due date, and you’ll always have the chance to ask me questions. In class, I’ll explain what we’re reading/writing/doing, and I’ll try to give you time in class to work on all this.

This picture is not cute; that cat is clearly destroying valuable property.

Week 1:
Three short, separate pieces for you to write/create:
“What do you want?”
Simply write a response based on that question. You can “answer” the question, or write a story where one character asks another that question, or write a poem inspired by the question…as long as you write several lines or a few paragraphs based on that prompt.
“Me, right now”
There’s a lot of exciting, scary, confusing, stressful, inspiring stuff going on in NYC and around the world right now and over the past few months. In at least a few short paragraphs, let us know what’s driving, fueling, stressing, and/or motivating you right now. You can keep it light, or you can write about deep issues…it’s up to you.
“Virtual Introduction”

Let us know who you are, what you’re into (hobbies, passions, etc.), if there’s a neighborhood or place you call home, why you came to Guttman, where you plan to go after Guttman, or anything else (you don’t have to answer all of these questions).
You can write this down and post it, or you can create a short video to share with us here, or you can post/share this in another way. Make sure you come up with something new instead of simply asking us to view you on social media or something.
This should be at least a few sentences long, or a video that lasts 1-3 minutes.
